And engineers who suggest "Hey, let's do some proper engineering instead" will be expelled for "no cultural fit" as they suggest that ever-changing-processes might not be the winning strategy the certified people want it to be.

I recently was called up by someone who showed me his unfinished app and asked me, how long it would take me to write something like that. it was a identity management system meant to allow users of partnering companies to uses each other services.

I told him, that it would take me some weeks and few ten of thousands of €. he than revealed to me that he has a team working on it for 4 years and so far he burnt 450.000€. We than discussed that he needs to change strategy as his project is simply not set on a path for success.

Next day I receive a message: he explains that he totally understands, that he needs to change his project fundamentally. And that he understands that the smart choice would be to contract me. but he decided to not do so and rather (his own words) "wait for someone with another opinion", as he also understands that doing the smart thing would require less project management — and as hedoes the PM in his own company, he wouldn't change a thing, as he loves to manage projects.
