Can you prove your claim that coding standards help to understand code faster? I dont buy that.

In the process of creating executable programs, Programming Languages are the human facing interface — there fore we should make the text easier to grasp for humans — not for robots what is implied by rigid coding standards. The compiler doesnt care — formatting is the first to go out of the widow during compilation.

for 6000 years we layout all written text by applying the rules of Typography — just for codes we onmit that— because Typography does not give easy answers — as a linter would do and apparently software engineering is about nowadays.
